I'm really taken by that whole reality that Uncle Dick and Dad were serving simultaneously. I don’t think I ever put that together. Great post! It makes me think of my family's weird secret language thing. Once when my dad was delivering mail, he overheard a couple arguing. The man said, "I wish I never married you!" The wife replied, "Well, it's too late now, Luther!" Dad came home and told us about the incident, and we started to repeat the lady's words whenever somebody wished they had or hadn't done something. We still do it today. Yes, we know we're strange!
